Unmistakeable in almost any plumage, the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher immediately draws eyes to its dramatically elongated tail feathers. This species typically perches in the open, often on barbed wire fences, and has a limited breeding range in praires and pastures of the south-central U.S. Their pale silver-gray plumage is accented by salmon-pink patches on the flanks and underwings.
