Crane news from the Netherlands

Dear Kitty. Some blog

This video is about common cranes dancing.

Common cranes had been absent as breeding birds from the Netherlands for centuries. However, as the Dutch Sovon ornithologists report today, in 2001 a couple managed to raise a chick in Fochteloërveen nature reserve.

Gradually, more cranes followed. In 2015, there were nine nests in the Fochteloërveen. Two in the Drents-Friese Wold; two in the Dwingelderveld. One in the Korenburgerveen, one in the Engbertsdijksvenen.

More about cranes in the Netherlands is here.
